The All-New 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Family

Performance

The new 2022 Grand Cherokee is offered with several powertrain options. The standard engine is a 293-horsepower, 3.6-liter, V6 gas engine. For the Grand Cherokee L and Grand Cherokee WK, the 3.6-liter V6 makes 290 horsepower. The V6 is the only engine available for the Grand Cherokee WK. One of the optional engines is a 5.7-liter V8 that delivers 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The V8 engine is available on the Trailhawk, Overland 4×4, Summit 4×4, and Summit Reserve models for both the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe is a plug-in hybrid SUV that pairs an electric motor with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This system produces 375 combined horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

Seating

A notable update that has been made to the 2022 Grand Cherokee is the addition of new seating options. The 2022 Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee WK, and Grand Cherokee 4xe offer traditional seating to accommodate five people. The Grand Cherokee L is a larger version of the traditional Grand Cherokee, and it offers three rows of seating. Second-row captain’s chairs are standard, and this seating setup allows for 6 passengers. There’s also an optional second-row bench seat available for the Grand Cherokee L, which increases the seating capacity to 7 passengers.

Appearance

The Grand Cherokee boasts a confident, sophisticated design from end to end. Its hood and sides have a subtle, well-placed definition highlighting the SUV’s strength. The boxed-off styling is accompanied by square wheel wells and a rounded nose. The grille carries Jeep’s signature bar design on the front end, and it is integrated with LED-enhanced, rectangular headlights.

Meanwhile, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is notably different throughout its interior. It boasts a contemporary design with quality materials. Its center stack flows directly into the console without interruption. A third digital screen is mounted in front of the passenger’s seat in addition to the driver’s digital display screen and the central infotainment system screen.

Finally, the Grand Cherokee WK continues on with the appearance of the outgoing fourth-generation Grand Cherokee.

Features

The new 2022 Grand Cherokee is offered with the traditional trim levels available in the 2021 model year, and the 4xe and L are new additions. The Grand Cherokee’s traditional trim levels include the Laredo, the Limited, the Trailhawk, the Overland, and the Summit. The base trim level has fine materials balanced by an array of technologies and conveniences that keep you confident, comfortable, and connected on the road. These include smart device integration, a multi-zone automatic climate control system, assistive driver’s aids, and other features. Higher Grand Cherokee trim levels add remote start, heated and memory functions for the front seats, a premium sound system, and other equipment.

The 4xe comes with three digital display screens, and these are for the driver’s instruments, the center stack, and the passenger’s entertainment features. It has many of the same features as you will find in the higher Grand Cherokee trim levels.

The Grand Cherokee L has a display screen in front of the front-row passenger and two additional display screens in the second row for the rear entertainment system. It also adds Amazon Fire TV, three new paint colors, upgraded leather, a more advanced sound system, and a few additional features.
