What’s New for the 2021 Jeep Compass?

A few notable changes await drivers and passengers of the Jeep Compass in 2021. This year’s Compass ranks in the top 10 of extra-small SUVs. It gets an expanded lineup of safety features on select trims, including the Limited and Trailhawk. The 2021 Compass also gives you more options for customizing and accessorizing with the availability of an 80th-anniversary special edition trim package. The Compass also eliminates the manual transmission for 2021 to simplify your mechanical selections. The 2021 Compass, which is part of the third Compass generation from 2017, still has a notably spacious interior and a modern, user-friendly touchscreen interface.

As before, there are four trims available for the Jeep Compass. This year, however, the Compass adds two variants to the Latitude: the Altitude and the 80th Anniversary Edition. Each one varies slightly in amenities and appearance, including adding unique exterior elements. The first Compass is the Sport. With this trim, you will get a seven-inch display screen and USB charging ports in both rows. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included. The Latitude builds on the base trim’s features with roof rails and alloy rather than steel wheels. Fog lights are added, along with satellite radio and a few more options. The Trailhawk is configured with more off-road features for a more rugged look and improved handling and traction. The Limited focuses on a luxurious interior with a remote engine start and a more extensive standard infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display screen. Its seats upgrade to leather, and it comes with heated seats and a heated steering wheel. There is no difference in power among the trims, as they all share the same engine. Across the lineup, the Jeep Compass is powered by a 2.4L engine that has a four-cylinder layout. The engine produces a maximum of 180 HP and slightly less than 180 LB-FT of torque. All-wheel drive is standard on the Trailhawk and optional on the other trims. The others come with front-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive models have a six-speed transmission, while a nine-speed transmission is standard on the all-wheel drive models.

A handful of advanced safety aids are standard or available for the 2021 Compass. You can get rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring along with advanced airbags and seat belts. Add-on safety features are available through packages.
